There’s a tremendous number of people who like to write out there. More than you’d imagine (more than I imagined, to be sure) and certainly more than you see on a regular day at the mall. People just don’t admit it or make a point of telling everyone.
People seem to enjoy my writing and the pace of new subscribers is consistent every week. Unbidden, I’ve acquired a number of paid subscribers and I thank them for their support at this early stage. Right now, I’m in beta; creating stories, articles, notes and (soon) more long form essays and allowing access to 100% of what I produce to all my subscribers. Eventually that will change and the offerings will have a more varied degree of availability, depending on subscriber status.
It’s work writing. Don’t let anyone tell you different.
I enjoy reading other writers (of course!). Some inspired me to take this on and there’s one that has a witty, casual style that is particularly influential - this guy here -
My most popular post so far was the one about
hot dogs (!). It has the most ‘opens’ and, I presume, reads. I never would have imagined that inexpensive processed meat had such a draw.
